Who We Are

Anigrams Productions is an independent, woman-owned game development studio crafting fun and original story-driven games for PC (Windows and Linux) and MacOS. We’re best known for visual novels such as Memoirs of an Angel (2010) and Ace in Another World (2024).

Our mission is to build community, inspire creativity, and help make gaming better for everyone.

Our Story

Growing up, founder Cera White always loved playing her brother’s videogames, but she never imagined she would ever make her own. And yet, in 2009, bored and frustrated with the lack of story-driven adventure games for girls, she began work on her very own computer game.

The only code she had ever worked with was formatting forum posts, so her first attempt was a text adventure in a forum thread, laid out with images and “choices” that lead to different branches of the story, formatted as links to different posts in the thread.

Then she found Ren’py, a Python-based program for making “choose your own adventure” games known as visual novels, and spent the next year learning how to design and build her own game. In 2010, Cera posted Memoirs of an Angel to the Lemma Soft Forums under the name Anigrams Productions, and officially marked the game “released” two years later in 2012.

Since then, we’ve been working on a myriad of other projects. In 2023, the limited-liability company Anigrams Productions, LLC (d.b.a. Anigrams Productions) was formed in the state of Washington, United States. Now that we’re official, we hope to make more games!
